one man one vote

In 2008 I saw this country embrace the improbable, a black man was elected president. At the time I was proud of this country and I  thought we had as a people made an evolutionary step forward. We were replacing a mindless puppet and his corrupt regime with an intelligent man who seemed to care about the future of the common people in this country. Unfortunately the previous regime had laid the seeds of disaster by a lack of oversight and deregulation of the high-end financial institutions of this country. The banking and wall street executives had taken near complete control of this countries economy and were soaking up over 90 percent of this nations wealth. I don’t mind when a hard-working person succeeds, but so many in  the top two percent of earners in this country have made their wealth through the stock markets. The point of having a stock exchange was to be a central location where investors could find and invest in companies that showed a potential for success. The investment was a stake in the future of the selected company. But because of poor regulation or lax enforcement of regulations the markets degraded into legalized gambling dens where investors could if they were skillful or well-connected make much more money by playing the markets. Moving money around not according to the performance of any particular company but according to market trends. A large player or group of players would buy a large amount of stock in just about any company that had a low stock price. This company could be making buggy whips, it doesn’t matter, all that mattered was that after this large purchase of stock in this company the price of those same stocks would almost immediately begin to rise. Other players in the market, usually the smaller less informed or connected players, would see  this rise in stock values and invest their money hoping to take advantage of the gains. The original big players would then sell off their stocks making huge profits sometimes in a matter of minutes. After the sell off of these stocks the price would drop leaving the secondary players holding greatly devalued or worthless stocks. The companies actual performance had nothing to do with this exchange of wealth. The men who made the money through stock manipulation schemes contributed nothing to the country’s economy, no jobs were created, no products were made or sold. Money was simply skimmed from other investors and transferred into the pockets of the major players. Normally I would say if someone wished to gamble their money in the stock market let them lose it . But like all crooked games, eventually a limit is reached, eventually there is little money left to be skimmed so other schemes are invented like real estate scams where the banks would take advantage of middle and lower-income families wishing to invest in real estate. The banks knew that the vast majority of the thirty year mortgages would never be paid off. The home buyer would make the deal because he believed the value of his home would keep rising allowing him to sell it for a huge profit in just a few years. The banks would collect down payment money, sometimes the life savings of buyers , and mortgage payments which usually went only towards the interest on the loan. The banks would be excused from maintenance on the property and they would never give up title to the property.  The largest banks made billions just on the down payment and closing cost money. Billions more were made by selling these mortgages in underhanded market schemes. The real estate market bubble was a premeditated pyramid scam designed to pull in middle and lower-income people who would never invest their life savings in the stock market but  would invest in a home. Those millions who are being foreclosed on now were at the bottom of the pyramid, where the losers in a pyramid scam are meant to be. There are many easy money scams going on. the problem is, they are all legal or hidden so well that they will never be uncovered and the perpetrators prosecuted. With huge wealth there is huge power. When Bush left office he robbed the treasury of 700 billion and gave it unconditionally to the bankers and wall street tycoons. Much of that money was simply pocketed but some was used to finance the downfall of the Obama administration.

The top two percent in this country have no legitimate political power. In this democracy of “one man one vote”  the very wealthy have no power at the polls. They must purchase political power from the elected and manipulate the masses into electing the right sort of people.

The vast majority of this nations wealth is concentrated at the top. History shows us what happens when a countries economics reaches this extreme. First the lower classes begin to suffer but who cares they are usually minorities and they have little power. It’s when the middle classes begin to suffer that trouble begins. their wages become stagnant they are over charged for necessities like homes, health insurance, utilities, education and if things get bad enough food. The French revolution came about because all the wealth of the country was controlled by royalty and a few elites. The common people were jobless, homeless, and hungry. There was virtually no middle class just the haves and the have-nots. The Russian revolution was the same, hardly any middle class, vast numbers of jobless and hungry people and the upper classes hoarding the nation’s wealth.

This country is nearing the conditions that prompted the French and Russian revolutions but with a much more frightening aspect. The Germans in the 30’s were in desperate shape, the country had been devastated by war and not allowed to recover with dignity. The population was very angry and angry people vent in sometimes extreme ways. They sought out and found extremist politicians who fueled that anger and steered it towards minorities and the free press. anyone who openly opposed the extremists would be attacked and beaten by thugs and later when the extremists held political power the opposition would simply be eliminated.

When Obama took office the country which had been economically raped by our upper classes with the help of the Bush regime began to vent its anger. The middle class in this country had watched while millions of their jobs were sent overseas simply for corporate profits. They watched while the countries elite quadrupled their salaries while reducing the wages of the common people. They watched while their government used the 911 attack as an excuse to invade Iraq earning the defence contractors hundreds of billions of dollars and costing thousands of lives in a totally useless war.

The country’s top two percent were determined to stop a liberal agenda which would tax their mostly crooked and unearned wealth. This group of elitists were expert in manipulation of the masses  this has been a fundamental part of their plan to develop and hold political power in this country for years. First you demonstrate that the republican party was the party for the wealthy. A number of people would join the party thinking that by hanging out with rich people some of it might rub off. Next you make it a good old boys club by making a platform that was anti-minority,  anti-abortion, anti-socialist, pro-military. The goal is to bring as many of the single-minded white men into the party as possible. People who resented helping the poor, who are made up largely of minorities. religious People who have as their top priority the ending of abortion in this country. Flag wavers who think patriotism is fighting socialism which they believe is equivalent to communism. And another group of flag wavers who believe in america right or wrong. Then you have the so-called conservatives, the vast majority of whom don’t even know the definition of conservatism or the workings of the Federal budget. These are those who demand the government cut spending but they collect social security and use medicare.  Since most of the people the republicans need to fill their party are those types who would never read the party platform and wouldn’t understand what it was if they did try to read it there is a necessity to convince these people through the media, radio and television mostly because they depend on having a non-thinking following and readers tend to be thinkers. They use the media to anger their own people and keep them angry, it doesn’t matter about what, as long as you convince them that the Obama administration is corrupt and crippled by scandal. The media sources convince their constituents that they are intelligent which most people like. They convince them that all in opposition are liars and only the right-wing outlets are trustworthy. eventually when enough people have been brought in and convinced of their own intelligence You turn them loose and they shout and make signs that reflect the insanity that has been implanted in their minds. Poor people demanding tax cuts not even aware that their taxes have been cut and the tax cuts they are demanding are for the top two percent, the very people who have angered them in the first place. The top elitists control virtually all of the american economy they are the people who control the number of jobs available in this country. They control wages and benefits they are the people responsible for holding the unemployment rate at such a high level, the point is to make the american people suffer to make them become angry to make them reject Obama. They do this at a time when this country is at war. They are traitors and the american people should revolt against them. Find out who they are, since you rarely hear their names, this is by design. Find out what corporations they control and stop doing any business with them. Withdraw your money from their banks withdraw your money from the stock market. Stop believing the tripe they tell you. These men are greedy crooks who have no patriotism for this country. They are driven solely by greed. And most importantly stop backing the politicians who have been bought by these people, they believe you are low life, they believe you are a sheep to be sheared. Stop them before they go to far and we reach a critical mass and explode as a country and we lose our “one man one vote” democracy.

Truth should be easy to find

I recently (recently meaning about the last five years) began to pay closer attention to the world of american politics. Before now I would usually just glance at editorials or flip through the news channels.  I would take in just the surface of information delivered through the various media outlets. I would be informed but not educated. Politics was a boring subject and I couldn’t sit and listen or read much without losing interest.

As I reached middle age I began to pay attention.

I believe it was the Imus in the morning  program that I first watched on a regular basis. I couldn’t believe the way they crucified him and took him off  MSNBC. He moved somewhere deep into the cable package that I could not afford so I don’t even know if he is still on the air. I was watching that morning when he made that nappy comment and it went right past me, it was just a joking comment, he was trying to hurt no one. Without Imus to fill my morning time slot I began watching the boring show that replaced him, Scar (don’t know how to spell his name) and the Fox news morning show, I was fascinated by the contrast between the right leaning Fox channel and the liberal MSNBC.

When I was much younger I remember watching the Veit Nam war news on the three network channels Cronkite, Huntly-Brinkly, Rather, each anchor had his own ways but the news was usually the same no matter which channel you watched it on, if one channel reported 200 americans KIA this week all the programs would have the same number. There was propaganda delivered by the government I guess, that always listed the enemy KIA’s at a number usually at least five to ten times the number of americans killed. I think this was done to make us think we were winning the war because we killed so many more of them than they killed of us. The propaganda came from the government not from the news people

I switch between Fox and MSNBC now. I graduated to the evening shows a few years ago I listen to each program not so much for accurate information but to study the battles between the talking heads. Fox rips the liberals , MSNBC rips the right wingers. If I pay attention closely enough and throw in a few minutes of CBS or ABC or very little CNN I can usually find a comfort zone of truth. I do not believe the average American has the patience to go through the trouble of seeking the truth. I think most americans settle into a single favorite news channel and takes that channels word for it that what they are being told is the truth. I believe this is why we now have a Tea Party, Fox and Rush have captured an audience who believe that the “truths” told by these two media sources are good enough, after all with Fox at least they are hearing from a legitimate news channel ,they have to tell the truth, don’t they? The Constitution does guarantee freedom of the press. I think it should guarantee the freedom of the press to seek and report the truth and only the truth.

Truth should be easy to find.
